China’s Billiards Community Saw a Busy 2023 With Games One After Another

From local to international, from small to large scale, the year 2023 has witnessed the staging of thousands of billiards games on Chinese soil.
The ones most discussed by China’s billiards community in 2023 will be the three Chinese events on the 2023/24 World Snooker Tour calendar, which were the 2023 World Snooker Wuhan Open (Sept. 1-5 and Oct. 9-15), the Shanghai Masters (Sept. 11-17) and the 2023 World Snooker International Championship (Sept. 18-23 and Nov. 5-12). It has been reported that the combined prize pool of these three events will exceed £2 million.
In the meanwhile, China’s leading billiard brands are also holding their national games, turning more people into billiard fans. For example, with a prize pool of 35 million yuan in the 2023 game season, the JOY World Heyball Masters has attracted the attendance of professional players from over 40 countries.
Small events organized by local billiard clubs and halls across the country are creating waves of billiard fever as well. According to the latest data from a major game registration platform, there will be at least 200 small billiard games held nationwide in this October alone, which once again demonstrates the growing popularity of cue sports in China.
GBE 2024, the Next Up-Coming Big Event in the Billiards World
GBE, the highly-anticipated event for the worldwide billiards community, will return next May to Guangzhou, with a gigantic show floor of 30,000 sq.m and 1800 booths. By the end of this Oct., a total of 122 exhibitors have confirmed their attendance.
